We are Clarifying our Message

The Human Development Foundation is excited to announce that we are now doing business as the Cultivating Brilliance Institute (CBI).

Clarifying Our Message
As HDF has continued to grow over the last twelve years, there has been concern as to whether the Human Development Foundation name fully conveys our mission and programs particularly when we are reaching out to a broader audience.

A History of Success
Since 1998, The Human Development Foundation has pursued our mission of providing educational opportunities for children with high potential from limited economic means.

HDF fulfills this mission through our OPEN GATE and Parents' PLACE programs.

  • OPEN GATE establishes and supports gifted education classrooms in elementary schools serving low-income neighborhoods, in order to provide highly intelligent children with stimulating educational resources, learning experiences and professional tutoring.
  • Parents' PLACE teaches parents how to foster good study skills, and overcomes potential barriers to parental involvement, which is vital to our students’ success.

After considerable deliberation by our board, it was felt that a new name was needed that could more immediately communicate the work that HDF does with gifted children from low-income families.  We are therefore thrilled to begin doing business as The Cultivating Brilliance Institute.  Our existing programs, including OPENGATE and Parents’ Place, will continue unchanged.

Along with the CBI name launch, you will see a revamped presence on our website, Facebook and Twitter. We are enthusiastic about the new name and would love your candid feedback!
