All About Melissa

Melissa is a 9-year old girl. Her teacher is named Mrs. Harris. She is a little crazy. However, that makes her more fun. In school, Melissa is good in mathematics. She has always liked tests. Her best friends names' are Karely and Jojo. She met Karely in first grade. They were both in Mrs. McCarty's class. Then they both went to second grade, they were both with Mrs. Telles. She was a good teacher, but she was very serious. That's why Melissa likes Mrs. Harris more. Let's leave school stuff for now. Let's move on to her own life!

She is American, but she comes from Peru. She was born in Escondido, but her parents and her whole family are Peruvian (except her brothers). That's why she feels half American and half Peruvian. Melissa was born on June 16, 2000. While Melissa was being born, her dad was in Peru. However, her mom took her to Peru when she was 1 month old. When Melissa got to Peru, she met her uncles, aunts, her paternal grandparents, and of course, her dad Jose Luis. Her mom Maria was very caring to her, just like her dad. Melissa spent 3 month in Peru, before returning to the United States. Melissa was very happy when she was finished visiting Peru. She felt proud to know two countries.

When she was almost 3 years old she learned how to read and write. She knew every color by then. Melissa's mom always made her practice all she knew. When she was 3 and ½  years old, Melissa learned how to add, subtract, and multiply. That is when she fell in love with math. Then, when she was going to turn 4 years old her maternal grandparents gave Melissa a swing set. It was very fun when she started using it. As time went on, she liked it even more! She even likes it now! The swing set has one slide, two swings and 2 swings in one. The playground set is green and blue. Melissa was the only daughter when she was 3 years old. She was very happy.

When she turned 4 years old her mom got pregnant and had a baby boy. Melissa was happy and sad at the same time. She felt happy because _ she had a new baby brother and sad because she wouldn't be the only daughter anymore. When her brother Angel was being born her aunt took her to the doctor’s cafeteria. She ate so much that she felt like throwing up! When Angel was born, Melissa met a newborn baby for the first time in her whole life!

When Melissa was in kinder, she studied in a pre-universal school. There she studied math, writing, reading, English, Spanish, and French. Each class was 30 minutes long, some were up to 1 hour long! When she was five and ½  years old, her grandparents gave her a brand new bike. She didn't know how to ride it at first, but she learned. Melissa enjoyed being 5 years old!

When Melissa was 6 years old, her mom got pregnant again and had a baby girl. Her name is Julissa. Well, let's pass to when she was 7 years old. When Melissa was 7 years old something terrible happened! Her grandmother Lucia died. Everyone was so sad that they didn't play music for almost 2 months. Melissa's grandmother visited the house for a last time on November 1, 2007. She was in the hospital for many months. On December 4, 2007 Melissa's grandma entered to the eternal sleep. Melissa and her dog were so sad that they didn't eat for weeks! However, they were fine. Melissa has had many changes in her life.
